This exclusivity to the Netherlands is just one of the principles of COSMANIA's brand philosophy. The other principles are openness and interaction. Openness comes in the form of honest product reviews, valuing your opinion and experiences with the products, helping COSMANIA determine what is included in the collections. About Marije Hoff and Marcel Dekker

Marije Hoff and Marcel Dekker are the creators of COSMANIA, and are self-confessed cosmaniacs at heart themselves. After years of international e-commerce and marketing experience in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle sectors, they decided it was time to realize their own dream: to start a private lifestyle cosmetics company that caters for women and men who share their love for beautiful beauty brands. COSMANIA combines the interest and passion for foreign products, beauty, photography, design, fashion and trends.

When did your passion for cosmetics begin?
Many years ago! We are both fervent experts, and have been working together in the cosmetics industry for decades. That’s how we know which, and how, good cosmetics can accentuate your natural beauty. Our experience has also shown us that the major players in the cosmetics market are often limited by their own inflexibility and politics. But what we find in smaller, traditional brands or innovative brands, are creativity, passion and purity. And it’s those inspiring characteristics that we’re so crazy about!
What can we expect from COSMANIA at Hôtel Droog?
COSMANIA stocks a unique range of the finest and most beautiful cosmetics brands from all around the world, most of which are exclusive to us in the Netherlands. These international brands are very popular in their country of origin, and have a strong story to tell. The brands relate their passion for purity, responsible ingredients, clever production processes, and eco-packaging. They prove that 'responsible' is, in fact, appealing, fun, and far from boring. In the COSMANIA Lab, you can experiment to your heart’s content; you’re welcome to smell, touch, try - and buy! - each and every product. You can also take advantage of our mini makeover and make-up/hair touch-up services, which we offer, by appointment only, during or after our usual opening hours. What’s more, we organise regular beauty workshops, product presentations, meet & greets, and other inspiring beauty events.
If you had to give just one beauty tip, what would it be?
Stay healthy for as long as you can, and make sure your skin stays as radiant as possible by using as many natural products as you can. This will minimise the exposure of ‘chemical mixtures’ to your system. Natural - and preferably organic - ingredients contain the highest concentrations of vitamins, minerals and nutrients, which means that your whole body will benefit from being pampered with pure and natural face, body and hair products.
What is your favourite lunch recipe?
We love green, and we always opt for natural ingredients. For lunch, we opt for tasty, fresh and healthy salads. If we can, we make a different one each day, and we love to experiment with new ideas. That way, we constantly get to enjoy new recipes. Having said that though, we do have one favourite that returns on a regular basis: a fresh salad with pear, Danish Blue, sweet pepper, walnut, cherry tomatoes and arugula. Simply delicious!
What is your greatest passion in life?
We want to make people happy and beautiful. We aim to do so by making international beauty brands - brands with effective products that enhance natural beauty - accessible to everyone. We also provide advice on which products are suitable for individuals, because everyone has unique needs. This, combined with our lifestyle interests, such as fashion, design and food, make COSMANIA a wonderful place to experiment and to share our passion.
